EU-ASEAN Business Council

The EU-ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC) is the primary voice for European business within the ASEAN region. It is formally recognised by the European Commission and accredited under Annex 2 of the ASEAN Charter as an entity associated with ASEAN.

Independent of both bodies, the Council has been established to help promote the interests of European businesses operating within ASEAN and to advocate for changes in policies and regulations which would help promote trade and investment between Europe and the ASEAN region. As such, the Council works on a sectorial and cross-industry basis to help improve the investment and trading conditions for European businesses in the ASEAN region through influencing policy and decision makers throughout the region and in the EU, as well as acting as a platform for the exchange of information and ideas amongst its members and regional players within the ASEAN region.

Dress Code: Business Formal Attire

Following the success of the inaugural Health Summit held by the EU-ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC) in 2021, the EU-ABC Health Summit will return to Kuala Lumpur in 2025, aligning with Malaysia's ASEAN Chairmanship. The 2nd EU-ABC Health Summit will aim to provide a platform of discussion to address rising healthcare challenges in the region, particularly the rise of non-communicable diseases and addressing an ageing population across ASEAN Member States. Sustainable healthcare financing will be a key discussion topic as it offers a promising approach to addressing these challenges by expanding fiscal capacity and improving the current healthcare system.

In 2025, the summit will explore two key themes: Sustainable Healthcare Financing and the Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) model. It will examine actionable solutions that mitigate vulnerabilities, ensure sustainability, and digitise health ecosystems. These discussions will emphasise how Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) can help drive innovation and efficiency in healthcare delivery. The event will gather Health leaders, policymakers, and other stakeholders to shape a more accessible, inclusive, and responsive future of healthcare in Southeast Asia.
