The Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector is a vital component of the global economy, particularly in the ASEAN region, which is home to over 650 million citizens and forecasted to be among the top 10 largest consumer markets by 2030. The food and beverage industry, a significant segment of FMCG, faces numerous challenges including regulatory complexities, logistical bottlenecks, and evolving consumer dynamics. Some of which includes the varying standards on Front and Back of Package Labelling (FoPL & BoPL) system, the impact of varying Graphic Health Warning Labels (GHWLs) on alcoholic beverages, and the application of taxes on Sugar-Sweetened Beverages (SSBs).

To address these challenges, report presents recommendations such as developing a harmonised FoPL and BoPL system across ASEAN, exploring non-tax incentives for reformulated products to encourage consumers to opt for healthier choices, and fostering partnerships with industry and stakeholders to implement education campaigns and enhance consumer awareness to make opting "healthy" the easier choice.
