In Brussels on 27th June? The Philippines Department of Trade and Investment and Board of Investment, in co-operation with the EU-ASEAN Business Council invite you to the inaugural Philippine Business Forum on Green and Digital Technologies!

Hear from Philippines government leaders, including Minister of Trade and Industry Hon. Alfredo E. Pascual, about the country's favourable investment climate, emerging market trends, and its commitment to energy transition and digital transformation. The Forum will also feature leading Philippines companies at the forefront of innovation in the green and digital technology sectorstheir success stories, solutions, and growth plans. Through insightful presentations, an interactive panel discussion, and networking opportunities, the Philippine Business Forum will facilitate meaningful dialogue and foster partnershipbetween key stakeholders in the Philippines, Belgium, and the wider Europe.

The Philippines is projected to be a trillion-dollar economy by 2030, with GDP growth estimated at 6.3% this year. With ambitions to attain middle-income status, the country's energy sector must rise to the challenge of supporting its next phase of growth amidst the rapid expansion of industries to sustain its development requirements and the need to meet climate targets. While energy transition is a challenge, it also brings new opportunities.

The Philippines is on track to tackle this challenge head on by 2030: 35% of its power will be derived from renewable energy and will increase to half by 2040. Solar and wind projects have taken off successfully in the country, and its vast mineral reserves will facilitate new sectors like battery development as well as in developing renewable energy sources to support energy intensive industries like semiconductors.

So, join us in this journey! Belgium and Europe's innovation and expertise in green and digital technologies are welcome pathways for the Philippines to achieve its climate and sustainable development ambitions. Together, we can make it happen.
