The panel will discuss the following:

● The leading causes of mortality in the Philippines are heart diseases, cerebrovascular diseases, and cancer. What forms of diagnostics are useful in addressing these issues, and how soon should patients be diagnosed to get the best treatment?

● Philippines have made major strides in implementing the UHC and establishing new specialty centres outside of the Metro. Where are we in bringing access to important diagnostic facilities to Filipinos in regions outside of Metro Manila, and what are we doing to fast-track this?

● Diagnostics is a clear enabler in early prevention and screening, enabling the car cascade in making informed clinical decisions and increase linkage to care. Cervical cancer and HIV have established end-to-end screening to treatment regimes in the region, with reducing prevalence rates. This is not translated to the Philippines to date, with cervical cancer still ranked the top two cancers for women, and the country seeing the fastest growing HIV epidemic, with a 237% increase in annual new HIV infections. How can diagnostics data be translated into more concrete results to reduce potential health impact? What are the key considerations to upskill healthcare professionals to ensure sufficient manpower and expertise to increase access to screening and care across the country.

● Low UHC coverage impacts access to healthcare services, and in turn, health-seeking behaviours. What are the biggest problems in the current diagnostics landscape in Philippines and what is the biggest hurdles in strengthening this system? How can stakeholders play a role to help change these attitudes and behaviours in Filipinos?

● What best practices are being adopted in ASEAN countries similar to the Philippines in terms of diagnostics?
